Our Story

Nurse-led care, built around real people

Independent Nurses Australia began with a simple belief: people with complex support needs deserve care that feels safe, personal and genuinely connected.

After more than 12 years working as an Emergency Nurse, INA Director Bo Jupp saw what could happen when people left hospital without the right support around them. Participants and families were often expected to navigate complex care, disability services and hospital-to-home transitions during an already overwhelming time.

Bo knew there had to be a better way.

Together with her husband Tim, a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of experience in acute mental health, she created INA. A family-run, registered NDIS provider grounded in real clinical experience.

The goal was never simply to fill shifts. It was to build a service where people felt heard, families felt supported and participants received care from workers who were properly trained, carefully matched and confident in their role.

What being nurse-led means to us

At INA, nursing isn’t an add-on. Clinical knowledge sits at the heart of how we assess needs, plan supports, train our team and respond when something changes.

This is especially important for participants with complex health conditions, high-intensity support needs, psychosocial disability or those transitioning from hospital back into their home and community.

It also means understanding that good care is about more than clinical tasks. It is about listening, building trust, supporting independence and helping people feel safe and comfortable in their own homes.

Care that fits the person

We don’t believe participants should be treated like a number or matched with whoever happens to be available.

We take the time to understand each person’s needs, routines, personality, goals and preferences. We then look for team members with the right skills, experience and personality to support them.

Because the right support isn’t just about completing a shift. It is about creating consistency, building genuine relationships and helping each person live their life in the way that feels right for them.

Growing with purpose

Today, INA provides nurse-led disability and community support across the Gold Coast and surrounding areas, including high-intensity nursing care, disability support, psychosocial recovery coaching and hospital-to-home assistance.

As INA continues to grow, our reason for doing this remains the same: to provide safe, capable and genuinely caring support,  while working closely with participants, families, support coordinators, hospitals, allied health professionals and other providers.

Because people deserve to feel more than supported.

They deserve to feel safe, cared for and heard.
